Alice wong is a recent graduate from Newcastle University Fine Art. Alice Wong (b. 1999 she/her) is a Hong Kong-British artist based in London. Alice is interested in feminist ideas surrounding monumentality. She believes making significant and monumental work does not always relate to size or ambitiousness of an idea, resulting in the use of smaller and lighter materials such as paper or fabric to illustrate the significance of softer themes: love and the home. Alice strives to reclaim these hidden symbols of tenderness, emotion and femininity, to translate them into subtle powers. She believes all art is a collaboration from what has come before, collaboration playing a large roll in her practice.
